Product Description |
A St.George Bank Secured
Personal Loan offers borrowers the opportunity to provide a motor
vehicle as security over a personal loan and may be used for any
worthwhile purpose such as buying a new car, to consolidate debts or
going on a holiday. |

Acceptable Security |
Any motor vehicle being
purchased or an existing unencumbered motor vehicle already owned
outright by the applicant, subject to acceptable security guidelines,
including:

The borrowers and
owners of the security vehicle must be the same. That is, a vehicle
owned or being purchased by one borrower is not acceptable security
for a loan in joint names.

Only one motor
vehicle can be used as security for the loan
NB: Second hand imported
motor vehicles are not acceptable security. |

Redraw Facility |

Documentation Required |
Private Sale:
A Vendor Tax Invoice is required when borrowers are purchasing a motor
vehicle (which is being used as security for the proposed loan) via a
private sale. A copy of the form can be downloaded from our website.
Caryard Purchase:
Tax Invoice or Sale of Contract is required when borrowers are
purchasing a motor vehicle (which is being used as security for the
proposed loan) from a licensed motor vehicle dealer. The tax invoice
must contain the required motor vehicle identification particulars.
Existing Motor Vehicle:
If a vehicle already owned outright by the borrower/s is to be used as
security for the loan, a copy of the vehicle's registration papers are
required.
Comprehensive Insurance:
Evidence that the Motor Vehicle being used as security for the loan has
Comprehensive Insurance, with St.George Bank noted as an interested
party, must be provided in all instances. |
