National Parks Conservation Association

National Park Service
"The National park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education,and inspiration of this and future generations." Toward that mission they make a lot of information available about the U.S. parks.

Plant Conservation Alliance
"The PCA is a consortium of ten federal government Member agencies and over 145 non-federal Cooperators: biologists, botanists, habitat preservationists, horticulturists, resources management consultants, soil scientists, special interest clubs, non-profit organizations, concerned citizens, nature lovers, and gardeners.... who work collectively to solve the problems of native plant extinction and native habitat restoration, ensuring the preservation of our ecosystem." The Public Lands Information Center
Provides "a single source of information about recreation and land use on all public lands in a state, regardless of managing agency. We realize that when you have a destination or an activity in mind, your concern is to find out where to go, when to go, what to do, and how much it will cost. But up until now, getting those answers often meant an endless goose chase of contacting government agencies and trying to pinpoint the correct agency, department, or office."

US Army Corps of Engineers
They are involved in "Planning, designing, building and operating water resources and other civil works projects. Designing and managing the construction of military facilities for the Army and Air Force. Providing design and construction management support for other Defense and federal agencies.

U.S. Department of the Interior
This agency "has responsibility for most of our nationally owned public lands and natural resources. From its establishment in 1849, the Department has managed many varied programs including Indian Affairs, administering land grants, improving historic western emigrant routes, marking boundaries, and conducting research on geological resources."

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
"The principal Federal agency responsible for conserving, protecting and enhancing fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.... manages the 93 million-acre National Wildlife Refuge System of more than 520 National Wildlife Refuges and thousands of small wetlands and other special management areas.... it also operates 66 National Fish Hatcheries, 64 fishery resource offices and 78 ecological services field stations."
